A spokesperson for the U.N. later clarified that the stoppage of the escalator was likely due to an incident involving Trump's videographer, who may have inadvertently activated a safety feature while attempting to film the president's arrival by walking backward up the escalator.
Meyers didn’t stop there; he also poked fun at Trump’s grandiose claims about resolving international conflicts, quipping, "Oh, look at that — they solved the conflict in one day! How about that?" This was a nod to Trump’s assertion that he could end the ongoing war in Ukraine in just a single day.
